On a French racing boat, the ardoise is the board where headings and useful numbers are written in marker. Ardoise shows the same numbers at the foot of the mast, facing the cockpit.

What guides Ardoise

In the sun

A reflective screen that returns daylight instead of fighting it. Readability in sun and through polarised glasses will be tested and published.

One cable

A single NMEA 2000 drop powers it and brings the instruments' data. No other cable entry.

Endurance

A machined, sealed aluminium tube, designed for the foot of the mast: green water, UV, surface heat, vibration. Tests will be published with their reports.
